What does Safeguarding mean?
Safeguarding means protecting people’s health, wellbeing and human rights, and enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect. It’s fundamental to high-quality health and social care (Safeguarding people – Care Quality Commission (cqc.org.uk)). Therefore, the safeguarding of babies, children, young people and adults is a key part of all the work that we all undertake in providing health services.
